Fritz Reiner - Rimsky-Korsakoff: Scheherazade

This Scheherazade recording is the jewel in the crown of all RCA recordings from the golden years of stereophony. On 8 February 1960, in Chicago's Orchestra Hall, RCA engineers made one of the label's finest classical recordings with a magnificent orchestra. Before the actual recording, conductor Fritz Reiner compared previous releases, evaluating the orchestral playing and sound to arrive at his idea of the ideal Scheherazade interpretation.

Of particular note among the soloists are concertmaster and violinist Sidney Harth and Adolph Herseth with a brilliant performance.
